Ok first attempt here would not load.
Started car at night,had no problems till then ,it 'coughed ' then started on second try but reved up and down.Limped it the short trip home.
Next day found acouple of vaccum hoses diconnected including the vaccum advance.
Reconnected but engine idled very fast.
It has been suggested to me that the vaccum sensor (bolted to side wall,hose into manifold) was the problem.Any advice on how to check components without special equipment much appreciated.
