Value of 1975 280c

Hi everyone- I was hoping for some advice. I have a 1975 280c 2 door with 17,000 original documented miles. Car is perfect condition Brown/ Tan tex seats, auto trans. no sunroof. I am thinking of selling. Does anyone have an idea of a price range a car like this would be worth as I have no idea and have not seen any comps anywhere. Thanks...

It's worth what someone will pay for it basically. BTW, how come all the low-mileage original cars are brown? Drives me nuts.

The pluses:
1) 17,000 miles
2) M110 engine
3) Coupe

The minuses:
1) Brown
2) Automatic
3) No sunroof

I know a lot about the market of older Benzes, but I'd have to stab at this one. I'd say $3000 on the low and $5000 on the high. Damn brown. Try ebay for something like that.

What do you want for it? That's a better question.

Hey, brown is the new black. The real negative as far as resale is concerned is that it a gasser. That kind of mileage, with no rust, more like $7500-$8500. Copley Motors in Boston wants north of twelve grand for a gas 250 sedan with 87,000 miles on it.
Copley Motorcars: Showroom - Mercedes Benz
but it's been for sale for awhile.

Try ebay with a 5 grand reserve.

Yeah, that's a HUGE negative. I mean, who'd possibly want a coupe that could actually get out of its own way as opposed to put-put along at 55mph bellowing clouds of smoke all day?

Any chance of some pics? Also, where are you located?

I'd rather have the gasser than a diesel in that variety. Probably actually fun to drive.

I'm not arguing the merits of the gas engine, I'm relaying the resale values of diesel right now. I'm not saying it's logical! (POS, any bites on that sweet 280E?)

Not yet. But I was going to take new pictures this weekend and start getting more aggressive in selling it. I'm going to give it a 30-60 day push, if no takers, then I'm going to start driving the heck out of it.
