Okay, maybe I should be more clear. I assumed that in posting to the vintage forum, I would be implying that I was asking with regard to a 112, but I can see why one would get confused from what I wrote. I have a W126 300SE currently, so I know that car very well, but I'm not so knowledgable about the 112. I am looking at a car for sale that I only have pictures of and a very poor description from an owner who claims it to be a "1967 300AB." The car certainly has the 111/112/108/109 body - not sure if there are major differences, but they look very similar to me. So, I can't be sure of the year, and don't have the VIN, and am trying to do a little bit of detective work. The photos I have basically suck, and the information I have sucks more... but the engine seems to have something missing from the area where a period-correct 300SE would have the suspension pump. The thing is, the car sits high and level - so if the pump is out, so is the rest of it, and standard springs are in. The car has a sunroof, and a straight-six which looks right - but the damn badges are gone. There are, however, mounting holes on both sides of the bootlid for badges, if that helps. I also can't see if the lights are Euro or US. The owner claims that the injection pump is out of the car for whatever reason - could that be what appears to be absent from the driver's side front where the suspension pump would be in a 300? This is why I need little differences to look for...
