could someone please explain the engine configuration of AC on a 64 220?

Hi all,

could someone please let me know (or better yet email me a pic rickauf66@msn.com ) of the engine set up for a kuhlmeister unit AC for a 1964 220.

1. I know we have a compressor bracket. does this displace the generator? does the generator get moved to a new bracket, or onto the compressor bracket, or stay where it is?

2. is there a second pully (idler pully mounted on the block to keep tension on the belt? where is this pully at, or mount? any pics?

3. the crank pully... mine has 3 grooves now, with only 2 used.. is this the correct pully for an ac car, or do i need to get another pully.

what is the belt configuration.??


i have been on the phone with a lot of vintage MB dealers. no one seems to know. I keep getting different set up info? are there any 220 gurus out there?
a pic would go a long way in helping this hapless newbie out.

The bracket fits beside the thermostat above the generator or alternator.

I'm not familiar with the belt setup though.
