Getting a 220D road worthy

I have a 8k orig mile 71 220D and Want to Get it road worthy by The end of the summer. The car has sat outside since 99 and hasnt seen the road for about 16 or 17 years.

I wanted to ask some questions about some things..

Im replacing all the brakes and lines
All Fuel lines and filters
Drain the gas
replace ALL hoses
replace the Radiator
new battery
Tune up

Now:

I wanted to know about the Subframe mounts ect..
i noticed they are all cracked and stuff they arent in pieces just big cracks. Should I replace all of them also?
How hard is it?

Thx

Likely replacing the mounts is not too hard but will require access to special tools (spring compressor, compressed air tools make the job much much easier, as will a professional lift). Get the MB service manual for your car, and start studying. I replace all the suspension rubber in a 123 series diesel; it was about 5 days of work for me. The rear axle was done with access to air tools and lift and took about two days. The front axle I did in my garage, without lift or air tools, and it was rather tough.

Do you have documentation for 8K miles? Was it literally driven to the gas station and back a few times?

1977 - W116 - 6.9
1974 - W115 - 240D /8 - 4(M) OM617.910 + Turbo + 300D FW - Completed 7/8/10

Yep I have all Documents of Liscence papers ( last liscence paper i have is from 1988), original Insurance papers from date of Purchase. And all Paperwork from the dealership and all books in cases and everything.

Driven to the gas station and around on base and on 1 August on a Voltsmarch
It was bought in germany brand new and then shipped over here when the Vietnam war was over. he drove it to the store and back and to his work a handful of times.

It has all the German Acessories even an alarm system?
Im not shure how it works but It looks really weird? Its a Becker or something.
Plus under the hood it has a hood star Sensor and like 7 horns behind the grille.
Its a sunroof and has an Original Air Deflector thing.

The only rust it has is in the trunk area ( just small surface rust spot)
And then some rust in the front of the car In the fender on the Bumper mount area. Just Looks like its surface also.

i also have all the Seat covers in orginal packages that His wife got in 1982 From Germany at the Factory. So I will get those on. ( The original ones have rips because his cat got in it in his garage and scratched the seat bottoms.

Other than that the Driver side Door panel is Wavy on the Bottom because the window was left open for a couple of days when I rained.. (It was his daughter who did it) Plus the door wont latch either since I bought it. I cant figure it out.

I will post up before and after pics when i Clean her up this summer and Get her on the road.
im getting it Detailed out by a proffesional. they can get all the oxidation off.
I dont want to mess the car up

Your years aren't making sense. Is the car an '81 or a '71? Wife bought new seat covers in '82?
