Parts Availability?

Question for vintage car members.

At what point in time will parts for older Mercedes' cars become less available at the Mercedes-Benz dealer?

For example I have a 1992 190E 2.6, I am finding that Mercedes-Benz has HAD any part I wanted, (yes they may have to order it, but that is okay), but how many more years do I have?

I'll put it this way. Right now, availability for 1982 vehicles is excellent. You may have some trouble finding certain interior parts, but just about everything else is readily available.

Right now, you can get anything you want for a pre-WWII mercedes. All you have to do is ask nicely and then pay the bill when they custom make the part for you.

DC's commitment to keeping older cars on the road is second to none. I got to visit their new classic center in Irvine, CA last summer. They had a 52 mercedes in the shop getting a major restoration (at about 95$/hour). All sorts of parts were custom machined for that car.

The plasic interior bits will go out of production at some point in the next 20 years, but the current stock should hold them for quite a while.
