My name is Robert and i have 2 Mercedes fintails, the one i use is a 1962 4 spd column shifter, I LOVE HER! im about to have it repainted and upholstered, the other one is a 1963 220sb, its an automatic with leather and air con, but i dont know much about it except i bought it for 5 $ as a parts car, but havent used much off it. if u want i can try to get some pics of the 62, she's my baby i take her to the coast and drive everywhere i can with her. Anyway, i was wondering where you got the grill emblem the german weimar eagle, and where i might find a german license plate pre-EU style. thanks

What happened to the suspension?? The car looks great (except for the fact that it looks like a 300 fintail with failed air suspension). Is it drivable in that state? Give us some pics of the interior please! Ken in Colorado, 63 220SE in restoration

My Fintail is a 1967 230S

Bought in New York in August 2002. Very good original with a repaint about 20 years ago. Always garaged. 92,000 miles. I really enjoy the car but fear I will have to part with it soon. I have teenagers who are starting to drive and they need something a little more modern to contend with Houston traffic and their general lack of experience. I frequently drive in to and from work, a 80 mile round trip. The car gets lots of attention and compliments.

Must be bags. There is no way you could drive with that much of a camber issue. Does look sweet.

The current issue of Automobile (March, 2007) has a nice two page story about the "Fintail".
