Maybe, but I did it in '04, and the car ran well. However, I think I would have done better to have kept the original Solex, and just have cleaned it out. My purchase was as a result of speaking with a local Benz mechanic who hated working on the Solex carbs. Something about them being waaaaaaay complicated.
