Pulling the speedo is a bear (other b words come to mind). Mine was inoperative totally. Luckily (strange use of the word in this case), my heater motor needed replacement, so I had the dash apart anyhow. Still, with all the room to maneuver, getting the speedo out was a royal pain. And come to think of it, I put in the wrong speedo, and even so, the odometer doesn't work. I'm going to buy a correct one from eBay, take it to a speedo shop to get it repaired/rebuilt, and have someone else install it. Paying the $$ to have it done is well worth not having to deal with the stress!
