'68 250SE -- advice needed
Whilst visiting my local wrecking yard in the pursuit of some bits for my '74 450SL, I enocuntered a forlorn '68 250SE, sans engine and tranny. It also happens to have another car parked on its roof - the epitome of irreverence! Notwithstanding the insult, the car's body is in reasonale good shape, rust wise, (California car), but the front winshield is completely gone. The price being asked for the car is $400 - as is.
My questions: how difficult and expensive is it to find a replacement windhield, suggested sources, etc. The dash and interior are also a thing of the past and will need to be completely replaced.
I have located a suitable replacement engine and transmission from a '68 280 sedan, which, I believe, is close to what was in the car originally.
Lastly, how rare are these models and how good is the availability of parts from respectable sources?
Thanks for you kind advice!
