So SAD.....

These pictures really have got into my mind over the past weeks as there are more than a dozen of Pre-70s Merc that have been my favourite...

I wish I have the place and money to have them restore rather than seeing them going to heaven for good. Should show these to Mercedes head office...Hope someone can save these cars.....

I see quite a few fin-tails in those pics. That's sad. I think of all the parts it would be nice to have around.

where is this yard?

I wonder if it is close to me...

On a different token - I haven't been on in months, but you and I should get together and work on the April Fool's Run in Red River Gorge. PM or e-mail me.

Do they have a website or an email? I am not from the US but would like to check on parts.

Anyway, that graveyard for mercs is pretty unreal, never seen anything like that over here before. Kudos to the rescue team(s)... good job!

What A Find.

Ghana, a small country in West Africa is looking to restore a mercedes benz used by the first president of the country. They are celebrating the 50th anniversary this year.

I read that the car was turned over to the Ghana Museums and Monuments board by an old man who claims to have been the presdent's driver. He hid the car in some bushes, 100 miles away from the capital after the president was overthrown in 1966.

I bet they could use parts from this lot.

Are you being Funny? It really is sad to see some of those go to the pipe factory (like a horse's glue factory) I like the Adenaur's But there are hundreds of cars elsewhere that could use some of the little nic nacs off those rides. By crushing those without harvesting useable pieces (at least) they are condemning many otherwise complete cars to a similiar fate!
