Wow that's a lot of cars, I wonder why they just don't systematically strip all of the parts and just sell them all or batch them and auction them off. It looks like many of the cars are at least 50% there!

The cars are in Kentucky. Who knew this was the Great Benz Graveyard.

The problem is the original owner of the yard is getting on in years and is in a very small town that is mainly farming. He has the inventory in his head and as he passes the biz to the next owner, that info is hard to just pass on. As for stripping help, I have not got a good bead on why he doesn't have help that will do that. I know that his main storage was in a MAJOR flood about six years ago and he lost a bunch of stuff including over 40 pristine collector cars.

I am lining up my crew this weekend to start to get things like grills, fenders, chrome bumpers, doors, glass, stuff like that. Another group is coming in to pull motors.

The crusher can do 50 cars a day. We are going to try and stay ahead of it, feeding it 70's 220's and stuff first. There are also some US stuff that is going to go before any of the benz and some cars that have been stripped to the bone that will go early.

McBear,
Kentucky

BIIIIG kudos you you McBear for your public service. I wish I could go to work out there and help you save some of them.

In Lebanon most of them would still be on the road. (And still are) Wasteful society. Imagine scrapping an Adenauer!!

It's almost painful to see these cars waiting for the crusher. In Iran you can still see 190D pontons as long distance taxi (you pay by the seat, orange is local, sky blue is long distance).
