How do I get to the heater from the dashboard ?

Hello from QuƩbec city.
I drive a 240D 1979, model 123.
I just found out that the heater has a leak.
I was told that it could be repaired.
But to get to the heater it would take 7 to 8 hours.
I want to do it myself.
Is there a step by step way to do it ?
I would like to know what should I remove first.
It's starting to get colder here and I want to do it as soon as possible.
Thank for your help.

You'll find a link to an online version of the Mercedes factory repair manual here: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/vint...resources.html
