W114 restore project

I just bought a W114 (280CE) from a scrapyard ... got new keys made by MB.

However I still have trouble opeining the trunk.
The key works, can turn the lock, but the mecanism seems to be blocked.
Can put the key in 3 positions: Horizontally, then 90 deg. clockwise and not quit 90 deg counterclockwise.

Central locking cannot work as the engine is not running.

Any hints?

Other than just fiddling with the lock, I can't really think of anything. I'm going to move your question to the Vintage forum, maybe someone there will have an idea.

i had a similar problem

I had a similar problem in my 71 250CE. The central locking wont work but you can try running air through the vac lines. Don't try to force it because you'll cause more damage then good. The way I got through was through number plate lights.
