1969 Mercedes Benz 300SE 3.5 Coupe (W112) IN SELL!
Mercedes Benz 300SE 3.5 Coupe from 1969 in "SELL". It's a limited edition of 100 models produced. It's a W112, not a W111 like all known coupes 280SE 3.5's. Today this model would be a CL, the coupe version of the S. This car has an original 3.5 liter V8, mechanical fuel injection, 4 wheels disc, individual suspension "Sportline", with vertical shocks in the back arms. Red with beish interior, original "Intra" 6.5 inch wheels in 14", with 235/60 tires, all VDO gauges working, electric sunroof, It's a jewel, visit the following link to see the pictures:
Joe, I must say IT IS A JEWEL to have this rare vehicle.... if I could only afford. Besides, I'm from the Philippines.... shipping and custom would be a KILLER!
Could you supply the VIN of your 300 SE 3.5 Coupe?
I never heard of such a model - also no limited production ones. There were however rumors of several experimental versions of W112 with 3.5 and 6.3 engines. But since W112 Coupe production ended in 1967 - a '69 experimental seem's more than unlikely.
Your coupe is obviously a low grille version, which would make it a W111 - since there was now low grille W112. The licence plate illumination makes it a Euro model as well as the headlight/foglight/turnsignal configuration. The bumpers are W111 as well - since the W112 had no rubber inserts.

I would tend to agree with you. There is one identical to that (except RHD) here in Dublin which I have seen at several meets. Never thought it was particularly rare.
so what is the difference between a low grill and and a non-low grill?

Hello friends of the Forum. I've also seen this supposed version of the 6.3 liter in Internet, and I've seen the car, with the engine. And well, my car bought this coupe to the owner of Mercedes Benz of Venezuela, about 10 years ago, and you may be right about your facts, and for sure yes, he's Euro version. I can't tell you specifically all the questions, because we have done no modifications to the car, except for the tires, to lower the car a little, and nothing else.
