Saw an old one at the dealership yesterday

I can't tell the exact model. It was parked out back of the service area. I was looking the underside of my car since they had it up on the rack just then. I ask the mechanic about and he said it had been there for 3 years. Naturally my mind starts working fast and I am thinking about offering to haul it out of there for them. I figured it had been abandoned for non payment. Then the guy tells me the owner dropped it of and when he returned the car was running worse than when he left it. Refused to pick it up. It sits there for all those years until just recently a new service manager comes in and the car is fixed. The MB mechanic said there just wasn't anyone there who could work on a car that old. It is more like the new service manager is cracking the whip. I was very impressed by the level of courtesy etc that was lacking before. The old service manager was a jerk and a liar.

It's become a world wide problem since the crappy lot from Chrysler got involved with mercedes Service.
Until a year or so ago,it was easy to just go to our local merc Dealer and order parts for W108's etc etc .Now there is some fool ( probably ex Chrysler ) who considers any car built before 2000 to be obsolete in the parts dept.
I have tried to explain that Mercedes advertise the fact they can supply any parts back to 1936 off their shelves, but this clown won't be having any of it....So i now shop almost exclusively online.

Thanks to our Sponsor here BTW.
