Steering wheel off to the side 108 111

Has anyone ever noticed that on 108's and 111's the steering wheel is slightly to the right compared to the seat? I noticed that on my 3.5 coupe and a 280se I used to own was the same way. Why is it like that?

Is the seat bolted down properly, or have the guides worn out?.If thr seat springs have sagged it makes the wheel feel as though it is not in the center of the seating position. Not an uncommon problem.
