stalling 4.5 280 se 1972

car starts fine then stalls after warm up. cant get it to restart. turns over fine but wont fire. anybody have any ideas. 72 280 se 4.5

This may not be the case however it is worth checking your alternator. If the voltage applied to the sparkplugs is too low (as was in my case) the engine would sputter and symptoms similar to yours. When I went to check the enginge, found a small wire with insulation breakdown. Fixed it and works much better. Could also be the case if your alternator is bad or have too much electronics loaded in there. Worth a try to have a look if anything.

Does it restart without issues after it cools down? How's the fuel pump and filter? And do you have spark from the coil?

it does start after cool down. dont know the answer to your other questions?
haven't driven much this summer, no time or money
by the way I used to work at the lighthouse hostel in monterey bay.

First you need to determine if it's fuel or fire. You can determine that by checking spark on the coil wire. If good spark, you can tee in to the fuel ring with a pressure gauge to see what is happening there or remove a bank of injectors, ground the coil wire and crank the engine. The injectors should fir sequentially.
