Fintail Screaming Sound?

Hi folks, first post. I'm a Brit living in Sao Paulo Brazil running a 1964 220Sb Heckflosse. The previous owner rebuilt the body and interior and I've rebuilt the engine. She's a beautifiul car and keeps me out of the bars. Usually because I'm penniless having paid out yet more $$$ on the car!

Problem > a screeching noise from either the offside (LHD) front or rear wheel area when the car drives an a cambered road surface and the car leans down on the left side. Could it be a simple grease nipple that needs pumping, a wheel bearing or a ball joint? Its not a constant problem but sufficient to concern me and want to know at least what it is and rectify if necessary.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers
Richard

We've been watching the "Cup" and now that italian Diving team have beaten the socceroos i'll take a look at the screaming finny.....
Lift it up on the corner the noise is comming from and give the wheel a spin,it sounds like a very badly worn King pin or trunnion bearing which is letting the wheel or tire rub against the shoch absorber. I have seen this before and it's something you look at NOW,not when the wheel falls off
Check the bottom suspension arms on the outer end,for craqks, you'll need to wire brush the arm underneath to see if there are any cracks .
There aren't any ball joints, just tie rod ends and I suggest you check them too.
How does ther steering feel?

Steering's fine, straight as a dye. Will check as you suggest and yes my fear is that something will drop off if I cant identify the problem.

Cheers

Rear wheel bearing is going out or needs lubricating. Take off the cap and see if there is grease in there. Has the bearing gotten hot? The grease that is left will have run out into your hubcap.
