What's with the super low gearing??
When I drive my car, it upshifts twice. It was shifting after the "redline" marks on the speedo until I had it serviced. Now it shifts smooth at the right time, but is still lacking a highway gear. And it was designed that way. I thought my fourth gear wasn't engaging, turns out I just have one of those 2-3-4 transmissions with the rock crawler 1st gear better suited for a G wagon. So, at 60 mph my big diesel is turning at a shreiking 3000RPM and at 70...? well, it sounds downright unhealthy. Can anyone tell me why it has such short gears? And if there are any lower ratio differentials that will bolt in? I think it's a 3.92 or 4.08 like my gas Benz was.
