Red face Transmission Fluid in the Power Steering Fluid reservoir

I've been hearing a little squealing from the power steering...I open the reservoir and find (to my surprise), transmission fluid. So I'm a "shade tree" mechanic which means I could use a little help.
1) how much damage does this cause? (if anyone knows)
2) how do I drain the transmission fluid out and should I flush it with anything?
Thanks!

All vintage Mercs use ATF in the reservoir,if it is squeeling, you will need to source another pump...BUT,is the pump OR just the belts?

Thanks

Thanks. It was a little low so I added ATF and ...now she cranks and won't start. BUT I think something shorted out. Oh well, that for another post. Thanks again.
