DePaoli, here is an original w115 - 300D . Imported into New Zealand from Canada in 1982. I bought it this month ....... its a fun car.
this is an amazing car ! You got one of the best ones.. the five cylinder 115 ! Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing it with me, here on the other side of the globe.
Here in Brazil, diesels are only permited on vehicles that carry over one ton of weight. This is due to the way the government subsides commercial transportation. Unfortunately, the main type of transportation here is done by trucks. So diesel fuel is way cheaper than gas. Therefor, private trucks like S10, Ranger, F250, Toyotas, etc, are much more expensive in their diesel models.
At one point in the past, the embassies and cosulates were allowed to import whatever cars they wanted. So, there are a few diesel versions of older Benzes around. But they cost about three times more than the gasoline versions... said that, I may have to go for a w114, or a w115/gas !
Wish you the best with your new beauty !
By the way... why isn't a dedicated "/8" forum ?!?!?
