1974 280 slc

I recently was given a 1974 280 slc with 100'000 miles on it completely original that had been stored for greater than 10 years. After a little clean up ii runs and drives great. I checked the production numbers and noticed there was only 300 produced in 1974. The VIN # is1072210000007 which makes it the 7th slc produced. I was going to fix it up for my kid but thought I better check to see if it was considered a collector. Any info would help in this matter as I don't know if it is worth keeping original or not.

Welcome to the forum. Nothing better than being 'given' a car. First thing to do, clean it up fastidiously. Wash, wax, detail outside, inside and the engine. And then make an assesment of how much $ needs to be spent to make it original. BTW, pics are always great for assesing cars.

RE: 1974 280 slc

imo, that serial should mean 7th 280SLC made rather than 7th slc of all ever made

i have 450SLC and serial begins with 107024...
