my 108

I'm about to start a serious effort to get my 108 back on the road. I bought is last summer for the huge sum of 150 buck at a charity action. Actually went there to buy a Porsche 944t, but my heat was swayed.

Plans for now are to get her road worth, correct sheet metal back one, then off to the paint shop. Part I have acquired so for are: hood, grill, front bumper, euro lights, Petronix ignition kit, various tune up items, and fresh of eBay, these wheels:

rest of the pics are here:

Performance parts for w126, r/c107, w201, m117, m119, m102, m104 and few other things.

Reproduction 17" Penta wheels coming soon.

I see that you have pictures of the 96-98 sl500 wheels too, do you own those? I have always wanted to see what they look like on a w108 as I wanted to update my 14 inch bunt cake wheels to those on my w108.

Keep the color matching hubcaps on. The car looks 100 times better IMO with them.

RE: my 108

the 14's are going in the dump along with the hub caps. I don't have any SL wheels, they were just on my list to look for. If I find a set at a reasonable price I'll pick up a set.

Oh, and I am going to lower the car too. Either springs from the SL market letter or most likely air bag. I'm sure that will ruffle some feathers but oh well.

RE: my 108

NP, everyone's opinion is different, and it's only what you want that matters. For instance, I'd send you money not to lower the car, but as much as I like the stock wheels I also like the ones you sourced from eBay. They're among my favorite wheels ever, I think they had them on w124s right?

Anyway, have fun, not to worry, and my hat's off to ya!

RE: my 108

i understand peoples desire to keep it stock, but these arn't rare cars. If it was a gullwing or something I could understand, but these are everywhere. I am going to look into power adders when I get it road worthy though.

Performance parts for w126, r/c107, w201, m117, m119, m102, m104 and few other things.
