RE: W108 V-8 starting/idling issues (again)
Well, as an update, the fuel pump and filter were replaced, which made a huge difference. The car is in Colorado, and will be driven by my brother to CA, in March. We (that is to say, he, with my buying the parts) have replaced a lot of stuff that needed replacing anyway (plugs, wires, et al), but the 2 cylinders fading out still seems to be a problem. At times it starts up like a pro (when it's cold) and then, at the same temp, it refuses to unless it gets a boost of ether. Both my brother and I are tech types, so when he gets here, we may just pull the cpu and resolder all the connections.
The new CPU's run $350 and up - I've been watching eBay for a good CPU, but they seem to be rare.
