w108/109? 1970 300sel inline 6?

There is a guy i want to go check outs car but he doesnt seem to know enough about it....maybe it was tagged wrong or had an engine swap? coz doesnt 300 mean 3L or atleast close to it and did any w108/109 come with fuel injection?

1970 Mercedes Benz, model 300 SEL. Engine is a 6 cylinder in line with fuel injection. Car is complete except for hood orniment and stero. It is relatively rust free. Has been parked for about five years now. Was running when parked. Death in the family resulted in the car no longer uin service. Car has been in the same family for 30 years, (second owner). We have equipment for assisting with placing the car on a trailer. Please call with any questions.

You name it. If it's a W123 I have probably either owned it or worked on it.

I am a mobile classic Mercedes mechanic that goes up and down California fixing and restoring these cars. We need to keep these cars on the road. If I can help I will. Just ask.

The W109 300SEL 6-cylinder had the fuel injected M189 engine. 1970 was the last year of production with the 6 cylinder engine, it was replaced by the V8s up to 1972 although still badged as the 300SEL.

Last year for the M189 was 1967.The 1968-1970 300SEL has a M130 which was then replaced with the M116 in 1971 (3.5) and then the M117 (4.5) 1972-1973.

Sorry, my mistake.[:I]
Yes the 68-70 300SEL was the M130. It's still a 6 cylinder but it's a 2.8 rather than a 3Ltr.
