Want SL - Help

I've caught the MB bug big time. I bought an 06 E350 in August and love it. Now I want an older MB roadster. From what I've read and seen, I'm looking at the 71-80 280 or 450SL. Please give me your opinions on which models and/or years to look for or avoid in that range. 280 versus the 450, which is more fun and better to drive? I'm looking for a relatively clean car for summer weekend driving. It might need some TLC, has around 100K in miles. Price would be in the 8-10K range. Please give me your thoughts on these cars! Thanks.

I`d post this question on the R107 Forum. I think you`ll get an enthusiastic response and a reasoned explanation as to why either will be an enjoyable ownership proposition.

Look forward to seeing you there.
