MB 230.6 W114

hi guys. i'm actually an owner and user of a W123 but i felt the need to consult you here with the subject matter. i'm currently contemplating on acquiring a W114 with the M180 engine,. i gathered that it's a 2.2liter straight 6 cylinder engine.

i'd appreciate your opinion and/or experiences with regard to this particular type of engine. is it as tough and reliable yet easy to maintain as the M115 and/or M102 most common to the W123?

i'm not very knowledgeable about this engine. your thoughts could help me decide on actually buying the car. :)

The M180 is a very reliable and fast engine. It is actually a 2.3 liter (2297 CC, I believe) straight six with two zenith carburetors. I have found this engine to be a joy to drive but mine is a gas guzzler and I am swapping the engine on my W114 for an OM616. I want it to be a daily driver.

I had a LWB 230/6. As said it had twin carburettors, but they were a pain to set up. Although they would have benefitted from a rebuild.
