After cleaning the entire fuel system -- fuel lines, fuel injection lines, injectors, start valve -- and changing the spark plugs, it started first turn of the starter this afternoon. No misfire evident at all, but smoking a little; may or may not have hurt the rings after sitting all this time. Hopefully I'll get it on the road soon and see if it cleans up; if not, then my neighbor can decide what she wants to do with it next. Although I must admit candidly, after visiting with her today she has a very, very high opinion of it's value.
Now I will get on the telephone and order the master and slave cylinder for the clutch -- that will allow me to drive it. I may have the car back to her by Christmas after all and let her do as she pleases. Then back to those huge holes in the pocket book called race cars.
Thanks for all your help, I'm sure I will run into other problems as I work on it and need your expertise.
