towing 69 280SE

I have a 69 280SE in the backyard of a house I recently purchased. It has been there for about 3 years I checked the oil and added some new gas after draining the tank. The engine turns over sounds like it will start , But I want to have it cheked over before firing going any further.

Problem _ I have to get it out of the yard and across the street - now..... Is there a place to hook on to the frame for this short Tow of about a 100 yards without doing damage? Should it just be put in nuetral???

Thanx for help [:)]

RE: towing 69 280SE

I had my 280 towed about 10 miles recently. Hook a tow strap onto the front suspension (there's a big frame member on either side), but not on steering components or "thin" or "skinny" bits (pardon my lack of technical jargon). Don't hook to the front bumper (no telling how rusty it's become or how strong the connection to the body is). And yes, put it in neutral!

Good luck!
