Have you called Craig Jackson at Barret-Jackson? They get them sometimes and very nice ones too.

RE: 1970-1971 280se 3.5

A few notches UP?? Holy crap, I love the look of that one. The leather may be relatively used up but, I prefer to consider such things as "character"[:D] The 111 is such a sublimely nice style, and green is my favorite color.

Back to the car, is the paint iffy? Looks sorta rough/orange-peely in some shots but the wood seems A-OK. Pagoda, will you share your criticisms so we may learn?

RE: 1970-1971 280se 3.5

I did a 200+ mile trip to see an "unmolested" one owner car today. This car was suppose to be "museum quality" yada yada yada and it had the begginnigs of being a rust bucket. The seller would not budge on his price of $30K.[:0]

RE: 1970-1971 280se 3.5

Had the same thing happen to me!,one block from here is Burgundy (1971 build) W111 280SE 3.5 ,With new paint and skinny white walls it looks the dogs nuts, but anything you care to mention that can go wrong with a car...well this sad device has it all, from 3/4" hood gaps to rusty bumper brackets (!!!) The front crossmember bushes had sagged so badly that the engine has a 1/2" nut under the alloy mount arm to space it up and prevent the engine from riding on the steering box._It's all nice and clean underneath though...[:D][:D]The wood has been trashed by our sun and the leather was shot with no attempt at using any propietry product to clean it.When i asked the dealer to open the hood,he had to use a pair of vice grips to pull on the cable....and with all this ,they are asking...... $25,000.[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
