Need to fix Oil leaks, 4 and 5 cylinder 1970's diesels

w115-'76 200d euro(stick, manual steering-very basic benz). Bad oil leak, probaly from front main seal, leaks when running and parked(mostly after being driven). Any special pointers before I start unbolting stuff from the front of the engine?
Next in line for this repair( not yet sure where this less severe leak is): 1979 300sd, 150k, nice shape. Are there any diferences in how the repair for these two are undertaken? I know there's alot more hardware at the front of the engine on the SD, but that's all the detail I have. I've done seals on my volvo b23 b230, but not on any of my mercedes. thank you.
