Pics of my '69 250

I'm new to this board, so I thought I'd share some pics. I bought my Mercedes last fall, after seeing it for sale in town. I went out to look at a Beetle that was for sale, and I spotted this for sale at an extremely reasonable price. I had to have it. It had gone up for sale that day, and I bought it right away.It has been owned by one family for decades, and I have a lot of the original paperwork. The owner, Wilbur, had his name striped on the trucklid when the car was painted. So that became the car's name. [:D]He died a few years back, and his brother acquired the car and drove it in Colorado. He then drove it here and parked it in the garage, where it sat for 3 years. It ran perfectly after he brought it out, and I drove it several hundred miles after doing nothing but the usual maintenence.

It's a Colorado car, so it's extremely clean. I plan on eventually giving it a fresh coat of paint and fixing a few blemishes, but it's still a beautiful car to cruise in. I've had German cars for years, but this is my first Mercedes and I couldn't be happier with it.

Pics:

The reflectors on the door have been removed!

These have got to be the nicest caps I've seen. Most have a finish that is somewhat dull, and these look almost like chrome.

RE: Pics of my '69 250

Thanks.[;)] It's a manual also, which seems to be rare on these cars with exception to the diesels. It seems like 9 out of 10 are automatic.

Amazingly, I am also going to be the proud new owner of a '71 220! I found it in the local paper, and gave the owner a deposit on the spot. It's not as clean as my other Benz, but it will make a good daily driver. It's has some advantages, like a working AM/FM Becker radio and a beautiful un-cracked steering wheel, and an interior that is close to mint. Also working COLD A/C, not that I need it much. 100 miles on the transmission and tires, both of those repairs equaled what I paid for the car. The wierd thing was the car was in a garage 2 miles from home, as was my other one, and every other car I buy usually comes from out of state. And it's baby blue[:D]
