Got a 71 W114 250 today

I know nothing about this line and got it really for no reason but to just to add to the collection. My question is it being a column shift something special or is this common?

Fairly common, though not the majority.

What color do you guys think looks good on these?
All it really needs is a fresh paint job.Interior condition is immaculate and is I guess tobacco brown?!

I like the color that's on it. I plan on keeping my 250 the original brown color that it came from the factory. If I wasn't a freak for originality I would probably paint it silver or maybe a dark blue.

By the way do you have anymore photos of the car, it looks like it's got a lot of potential.

RE: Got a 71 W114 250 today

I noticed the right fender has a pretty good crunch on it. There's a guy on eBay with some NOS fenders for next-to-nothing. Do a search for "114 chassis fender" to pull them up.

I can't swear that the 4-door 114 and the 2-door 114 use the same fenders, but it's worth checking out, since you're talking about painting the car anyway, and getting an NOS fender for $50 or so including shipping would beat the heck out of repairing your existing one.

They do.
