Manual-to-automatic antenna conversion?

I'd like to replace the fixed antenna on my 250C (W114) with an automatic model. I have an aftermarket radio, so I already have an antenna wire to activate it.

Does anyone know of a modern chrome automatic replacement antenna that will fit the 250's fender without cutting anything? I'd like a good brand like Bosch, Harada, or Hirschmann if possible.

I know that an automatic antenna was an option in 1972, but I don't know what brand it was.

Thanks,
Scott

I believe Becker radios came with Hirschmann automatic antennas. I think an expert on the subject can help you so be sure to use the BeckerBoard. Also, they sell replacement antenna kits for MB's.

RE: Manual-to-automatic antenna conversion?

Thanks - I've seen several eBay auctions for Hirschman automatic antennas that basically say "If your pre-1983 Mercedes had a Hirschman automatic antenna from the factory, this is the replacement for it". I just didn't know what brand the factory one was.

So now it seems I know what to look for.
