M-B Pecking Order

So: was thinking about the Mercedes-Benz Pecking Order among the Cognoscenti. Surely the 500K and 540K have to fit in here somewhere (at or near the top), and the 300Sc from the 50's. So I added them in even though they don't fit in the current nomenclature.

So it's not just about which model you like the best, but which you see as the ultimate "standard-bearer".

"Flagship" would imply the current S-Class but I personally believe the SL is the definitive Mercedes. (And I have never owned an SL). So I was looking to quantify the sequence.

I left the poll open to add options and permit multiple choices!

RE: M-B Pecking Order

I'd say the 6.3 and the 6.9 (as well as my 3.5) should fall under the S-Class rubric which, if it hadn't been diluted, would now tie the SL for the lead.

RE: M-B Pecking Order

although I have a 2000 SL500 and a 1969 280S... the M-B I really wanted was a 600 sedan circa 1968.
I could have bought one 10 yrs ago but the owner talked me out of it saying: "it's too expensive to repair"
I guess I was stupid. I know better now.

btw. it was selling for $6,000. USD
