When we were vacationing on the Oregon coast the calipers on our Odyssey turned rusty overnight and the brakes made grinding noise for the first few stops every day.

I'm pretty sure the neutral safety switch on these old transmissions is located at the engine bay end of the shifter shaft where the connecting rod attaches. The switch rides on a cam with detents where the neutral and parking positions locate.
