280 se 4.5 Is it worth it? Pics!!

Hi all!
I am contemplating if I should get involved in a new relationSHIP. She's a '73 w/175k mls. AC, MB-tex great wood, all original as far as I can see. And not messed up by unprofessional welders...

Is it worth *what*?
How can you say "yes" when you don't know the price?

And what do we know about this car mechanically?

Depending on the price it just might be. The body looks good in the pictures. It looks like there is rust bubling up on the front fender, I would take care of that as soon as I bought it. I also think that the lower front fender area where it meets the rocker panel looks in better than average condition but would take care of the rust that is starting.
Just my two cents though[;)]

Katana means is it worth getting or already has it and is it worth restoring.

I can say yes because of the body.

Who gives a damn about the mechnical condition - don't know the car but it's probably ok, because that's how they built them - tough.

The body is the concern; and if rust is minimal, and katana likes the car, then "yes". Also, anyone asking my opinion to save a W108 will get a yes unless it's rotted out. Look at my name.

Thats an exceptionally nice 108,the most important areas for rust are the front and rear of the rockers,if there is rust outs there you have trouble, but those look original and the interior shots show a good Ivory wheel and brown MBtex upholstery.A good honest car that would fetch about AUD $5,000 here.
