A 250 S ,what are the the first three numbers on the VIN,108? If so, it's not a rare car and i would have no qualms about repowering it with a chev motor, gear box and Ford 9" inch diff.

THe VIN starts with a "111." Does this mean anything to anyone?

It certainly does, it means it's a coupe, which means it isquite rare.

No it doesn't. 111 is the chassis type; coupe, cabrio or fintail sedan. We need the next three digits.

RE: Nightmare in my Driveway

It isn't a coupe -- it's a fintail sedan, which apparently, is one of the things that makes this such a rare model. We were told that the fins, combined with some kind of special chrome package that it has, made it super-shiny-special. It was taken to Aristocrat motors (in Kansas City) about 3 years ago when it was semi-running, and the people there tried to take it away from the guy who owned it then.

They told him that there were only 10 in the US, and that this was the only one in the 4-state area. They also told him that he (as a blue-collar car-junkie mechanic) had no business owning this car, and that it belonged in some collectors garage somewhere.

PS -- this is the one that's in really bad shape.

RE: Nightmare in my Driveway

I love the car, even though it's a sedan. But:

Guess how much money you'll get back for investing in it?

ZERO.

Cut and run. Sorry.
