Engine Power Loss
I have a 1968 280 SE that is in excellent condition, however I have a peculiar problem that generally happens after 20 minutes of driving. The engine loses power.
The first indication of my problem is when you accelerate and go above 3,000 RPMs in either first or second gear and the engine seems to "stumble" or hiccup. This gradually gets worse until you can't keep the engine going unless it's running at 3,000+ RPM. Even then the engine is not putting out any power and if you have to climb even the smallest hill it will die. Once "dead" it will start again in 5 to 10 minutes and run normally for another 20 minutes as if nothing happened.
Thanks for any help you can lend me.
