1976 radiator replacement suggestions

I recently bought a 1976 300d while living in California, and the car is in great shape. It made it the whole way across the country with no real problems, except as the title suggests cooling problems. While the car did not overheat the engine temperature worried me and the radiator was recently flushed. Many of the heat exchange fins are falling off or have already fallen off. While searching the net for a replacement I found that no one seems to sell the radiator. I am guessing that the 77 radiator fits because all of the places that I visited sell that radiator.

The oil cooler also does not seem to function and will need to be replaced. I was wondering if the two are sold as a single piece or need to be purchased seperately.

Thanks for your help.

RE: 1976 radiator replacement suggestions

I too have a 1976 300D, and this model is generally acknowledged to be a 1977 model. The 1977 radiator will fit. I recently replaced mine with an aftermarket brand made in Denmark. The oil cooler is sold separately.
