Identity of Hose

There's a hose/tube that's going from my brake booster, crosses over the engine and enters into an area to the left of the engine. Sorry, that's not very descriptive but maybe you clearly would know. Feel free to point me to a diagram of a 1970 280SE Benz engine and that'd be helpful. Thanks!

RE: Identity of Hose

I think you're refering to the vacuum servo unit(booster) tube that runs from the manifold to the master cylinder. It's there to to proved assistance to the driver when you step on the brake pedal. It reduces the effort required to operate the brakes under all braking conditions.

The Haynes manual has a good description but not the best photos. It states that the vacuum servo unit is reliable but if it does fail it doesn't impede the hydraulic braking system other than the need for more pedal pressure to operate the brakes.

I'm new to the 280SE as well and others with more experience please share your knowlege.
