Valves

I was wondering how difficult it is to adjust the valves on a 1971 250, it has the straight 6. I think it needs a good valve adjustment to get it running better. Also any step by step instructions on how to do this would be great.
Thanks

RE: Valves

It's real easy if you have a proper Mercedes valve adjusting tool.First, see if you can borrow one, don't think about buying one as even on eBay they are hideously expensive.
I made one by bending a 17mm spanner at right angles.http://www.samstagsales.com/mbref.htm
Go here and check out the tool you need,Valve adjusting tool 17 mm.
