comparing W108/109s

hi folks,

i am thinking about getting an W108 or 109 sedan but not sure about which differences between the models mean the most to me. the 300 was just a couple inches longer than the 280, right? given the notorious impracticality of the 6.3 and air suspension, how fast is a 300 with the 4.5? and how do the levels of finish vary between the number series?

thanks for your comments!

There is very little to choose from in regard to a 280SEL 4.5 and a 300SEL 4.5 other than the 109 suspension, which is at the same time a lovely feature and a possible avenue to the poor house.

RE: comparing W108/109s

Yes you are right. 300SEL have air suspension. My father used to have 300SEL 3.5 for 10 years, and its ride is sweeeeet.

btw, 280S are W108, 300SEL are W109. The difference is the chrome strips on the windows. W108 did not come with chrome strips on windows.

Check this one: Hope this helps[:)]

W109.
