how much would YOU pay for a 78 300d euro version?

you see i am being sold a 78 300d euro version for 4500 dollars. You see i live in Nicaragua where you pay a premium for cars that are old because of prohibitive importing laws.No more old cars can be imported.(old being before 1998). So i might have to pay a premium for these cars(w123). The car is nice and has air conditioning and has been repainted but is decent. It has small bumpers and manual tranny no sunroof.only 2 spots of rust and some minor details which are all fixeable.

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY FOR A CLASSIC 78 300d?

EVERBODYS OPINION IS WELCOME.ANY THOUGHTS ARE APPRECIATED.

RE: how much would YOU pay for a 78 300d euro version?

thanks for the replies everyone(being sarcastic)(nobody replied)

but to state the topic in another way: is it worth to pay 4 k for a 78 300d euro version? good condition and only 1 rust hole the size of quarter.fixable?iguess. you see i live in a country where prices for used cars are a little elevated.you have to pay a premium. so i was just wondering what are your thoughts towards this?

I cant comment on the price in Nicaragua but in Australia a car like that would sell for up to AU$5,000. Thats about US$3,000. I assume that your talking about US dollars.

So add onto that a premium die to your import laws and it sounds about right. Is there a reason that you need 4 doors. If you can afford it and its practicle, I would buy a coupe. A 230CE if your after a w123.

Eso,

Still haven't found any good W123?

As with all MB's it seems that the latest model year for the body type is always the one with least troubles and has the most updated systems. But if that's the best of the numerous other W123's you've looked into, let us in some more about its condition aside from the rust hole and maybe we could enlighten you. Do you have pics too?

If that's the best one you've found I'd probably lean on getting it but at the same time being wary of any overlooked or unseen (despite searching for problems for hours) things that need a bit more attention.

here are pics to help

it is hard to describe the car accurately without a photo.USe your imagination: it has a paint bubble(rust) on the lower part of the drivers door about the size of a quarter.also has a rust hole! below the rear right tail lens also the size of a quarter.

the car's color is a cool SAHARA YELLOW and has been repaitned.small bumpers, euro headlights and no equipment is what comes with this plain euro package

to help you guys here are some pics not of the actual car for sale but of some i got from the net to help you guys advise me:

Eso,

Nice pics. Glad you could show us where the problem areas are. But it would be really easier to diagnose if it was the real rust spot or broken glass.

Anyway, it sounds like it isn't much a big problem as long as it's surface rust and can easily be repaired. Ask a local shop if they can fix it for ya.

Btw is that the real Sahara Yellow?

i believe so, the website says it is sahara yellow.though i think sahara yellow looks like mustard.

here is a pic from the same car above of the interior, the car am i looking at has the exact same interior except that is has grey seatcovers and a small crack in the front window.also the radio is not original and sucks ass.other than that and the above mentioned errors the car is in great shape.
