RE: 72 250c M130V ignition timing help needed.
There should be a sticker or metal plate on your car with the timing specifications identified. If everything is original this may work.
Per the Mercedes Engine manual, there are lots of different timing set-ups on the different versions of 110 motors found in the 280E, however; since the previous owner installed a new engine, I'm not sure what my timing should be:
0 degrees TDC with vacuum or.
8 degrees BTDC with vacuum
One of these days I'll verify the engine vin number on the block. The engine number is hard for me to see on the bottom side of the block With the engine vin number we should be able to track down the exact timing specifications, through a reputable parts house, Mercedes Dealer, or MercedesBenz.com
