1967 280se Coupe

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1967 280 se coupe, six cylider. The car is just about flawless, and has over $40,000 in receipts. The owner is willing to let it go for $8500.00. Does anybody know the value of a fully restored version of this car?

no one can predict the price of a classic/vintage, the market is so up and down if you are buying the car for personal and not resale then beware you could loose out by a lot but saying that the pre 1972 is the best to go for because of buisness reasons "low tax-no road fund licence in the uk-cheap insurence dependant on milage" and they are a dam nice looking car

That is an awesome price for a very good condition coupe. I'd go for it.

RE: 1967 280se Coupe

OK, I went to look at the car. Here is the deal. The car is Navy blue with a red interior. 8 years ago, the car received a high quality paint job, and has been stored covered ever since, with less than 500 miles put on in the last 8 years. Everything mechanical has been fixed or replaced and all items work perfectly except for one slow power window. The car has automatic, air conditioning and power sunroof. The front seats are brand new, however the rears look to be original but rarely used. Their is fading and age to the rearseats. The rear parcel shelf has had a blind man attack it to put in speakers. The wood laquer coat is shot, and the wood could use a refinishing, but it is all intact. The engine compartment is very clean and the engine, 6 cylinder runs flawlessly. The speedo is in km not mph. The original color of the car was red. ALL CHROME IS THERE, AND MOST OF IT IS VERY SHINY. no rust, no dings, all new sheetmetal was used when restoring.

DO I BUY THIS CAR??

RE: 1967 280se Coupe

If the price is right, go with your emotion, all these cars are bought on emotion because a 4 year old Honda is more reliable and costs less.

The coupe is in my opinion one of the top 3 most beautiful cars of post war MB. If you really like the color combo and the fact that the PO has done most of the work, I'd go for it.

For me, I passed on some really nice W111s because I had to have silver, but am quite happy I waited. Keep us updated.
