Red face

G'day from down in South Australia. New to the group and wanted to say hello and show my newest member of the family. So back in April, "Large Marge" (the '77 Lincoln Mark V) got sold. Since i still have not repaired the dead engine in my '65 Pontiac, and i was left with only 2 options for fortnightly 300km long trips to help my father. The '79 Trans AM with its 6.6L V8 cruises along nicely but is very thirsty. And the little white '70 Holden Torana is great for running around suburbia, but (for someone 6ft tall) far too cramped and painful for the 3 hour long drives.... So in May i bought my "Baby Blue Benz", Otto. (short for Otto-Bahn). Otto is a 1968 280SE in Horizon Blue, and had been the daily driver of the nicest little old lady. From seeing the "For sale" ad for Otto, and making the choice to buy him took less than half and hour, it was simply love at first sight from the pics. Called up my friend to help me and we made the 90 minute long drive out into a country town to see the Car. Mechanically very well maintained and looked after, Otto isn't a show car, but he has be well "loved" and cared for even through years of use. After a day of washing and cleaning the underneath and engine bay and vacuuming and cleaning the inside. Otto is 100% complete and 99.5% of everything works perfectly on him. The 0.5% is the central locking leaks the air out after a while... and the original radio seems to have a mind of its own. The brake booster was not the best, giving me a rather weak brake pedal. But i managed to find a spare and changed it one afternoon, and since then it has been working perfectly with a firm and strong pedal. Traveling from Adelaide to Renmark has never been more comfortable and classy. A real joy for a daily driver.
