Contact the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Irvine, CA with the chassis number on the tag that is usually on the radiator support tho I'm not sure if its in the same place on this model. They can email you a date card that should offer everything from original build date, delivery date, options, engine, etc. the model number will vary by what engine was in the car. Also search for Ponton Group or Club to get in touch with other owners of similar cars and maybe go ahead and post in the vintage forum here too.

I just posted a link yesterday to a running and driving no rust car like this for sale for around $7,000 as a guide on value. If it were a coupe yours would be that valuable as it sits and if it were a cabriolet far more still. It would be a fun project as you said or part it out and buy the $7,000 car and drive it right away.

Did you already look for Mercedes plates? They usually have VIN numbers or similar info (chassis number, model number, etc.).
Than you might look at some VIN number search engine. VIN means: Vehicle Identification Number.

It's usually riveted on the main chassis, in the trunk or in the engine compartment. You'll probably need to cut the grass, before...

A grand total of $1,100

It had been sitting around for 2 years and the last 2 owners couldnt get it started so it sat under a tarp. The body is nice and resprayed 2 years ago but the seats are ripped, dash has couple cracks.
I got the engine running which was just the fuel tank pickup totally blocked, also stuffing the fuel pump ! Replaced the fuel pump and cleaned up the pickup & tank, put some new plugs in and away she went

Next on the list is to bleed the brakes and make sure everything works before stipping it down for its birthday ground up rebuild, id like to go black leather, original 4.5L and see which one of the original Merc colours takes my fancy but definitely want to restore it more original than modified

w111 250 SE Coupé

Hi everybody!

I'm new to the forum and though I should post a few pictures of my 1966 w111 250 SE Coupé. I've been into classic cars for many years but this is my first Mercedes... and I don't think I'll buying other brands again!

Enjoy!
