It's a '57 and is all original except for a repaint to original colors in 1992.
Just fitted some Coker radial tires on her and boy did that help the handling... that thing tracks straight and true now!
Now that's a BEAUT! Wish to see one in the flesh someday. (alongside that 190SL beside it!)

Post My new Toy: 1965 220S

So many beautiful MB's previously posted on this Forum.... I can only dream. My modest recent acquisition is a 1965 220S that I found tucked away in my neighbor's garage. The previous owner had taken it away from his elderly dad about 3 years ago, and it has been sitting ever since. It's in GREAT original condition (but previously painted) with an odometer reading of 30,000. I don't know if it's 130,000...or 230,000, but it's in such nice condition, that I have to believe it's 130,000 miles. The seats are just too new looking to be original, and I suspect they were replaced some time ago.
I just rebuilt the Weber carbs, the Alternator, charged the (aftermarket) a/c, and changed the oil & filter. The Radiator must be re-cored or replaced before I can use it daily. I plan to eventually restore it, but I must finish my present restoration of a Porsche 924S.
This is my 3rd MB. The first was a '57 190SL, that I restored in the mid '70's while living in Germany.....sorry that I parted with it. The 2nd was a 300D that I put bought with about 130,000 miles, and I added another 150,000. I'm glad I descovered this Forum. I plan to use it for research and to ask for help now and then.

My 1976 300D

Here is my 76 300D bought for $1500. PO stated would not start after changing glow plugs. The glow plugs circuit was connected wrong. Reconnected the wires correctly and she fired right up. will be a daily driver undergoing a rolling restoration.

Thanks!

I went for a drive again today, 4 weeks later. Car started right up without hesitation. Gotta love MFI.

Very nice looking fins, I guess I'm kind of partial to them. Later.
